Amsterdam 2000 - 10,000 pastors worshiping God.
To tell you how God opened the door for Scope to go to Cuba, we need to first tell you how God put the Cuban people on our hearts. Scope was asked by the Billy Graham Association to provide Biblical Personal Guidance Ministry to the 10,300 evangelists at Amsterdam 2000.

To view team experiences for our mission trips:

While in Amsterdam, several of the Scope staff stayed in the same hotel with 20 Cuban evangelists. While interacting with them, God impressed on us the need to teach our material in Cuba. At that time, we decided to commit through prayer for God to open the door for Scope to minister in Cuba.

Now we need to take you to the September 11th tragedy. Scope was in New York City as Biblical Personal Guidance Ministers working with the Billy Graham Association ministering to the people of New York. While there God introduced us to Straight Path Ministries, whose primary purpose is to conduct pastors’ seminars in Cuba. Through this introduction, we were invited to take a team to minister in Cuba.

Our God is an awesome God! For two years Scope has been praying for God to open the doors. He stirred our hearts at Amsterdam and watched us continue praying for this opportunity even while in New York City. We never know how God is going to answer our prayers. We just know that to see our dreams fulfilled we need to prayer earnestly - according to His will.

Praise God! June 28 - July 8, 2002, Scope sent a team to minister and train pastors in Cuba!

Team Members: Christi Craddock, John Gehling, Melody McCreary and David Villa

Cuba, the land where time stood still. You only have to be there a few minutes and you feel like you have returned to the 1950's. The buildings in Cuba are architecturally beautiful. The tourist area is beautiful with the refurbished buildings and the park areas.

Even though we saw and sensed the spiritual oppression in Cuba the Christians are worshipful and joyous. People will come and sit in the pouring rain, in the woods, for close to an hour so they can worship. Seventy-year-old grandmothers will walk through the dark country dirt roads for two hours just to get to church - twice a week. But despite all this, they love one another and they share all things. They are very giving and caring people.
