Transforming Lives Internationally - in India 2003!
A dream come true - Jim Craddock, founder of Scope Ministries
International, had a vision in 1973 for Scope to take a team to
India. We had the privilege of being the team that was part of
seeing Jim’s vision come to fruition. At the first conference a
man come up to the team telling them that he had been praying for
many years for God to bring him Biblical Personal Guidance
Ministry training and
thanking them for doing just that. Praise God - He does answer our
payers!

In August 2003, a team held three conferences in Nagercoil,
Madurai and Chennai. They were able to teach and train pastors,
social workers and psychiatrists to name a few. There were many
denominations also present. They taught well over five hundred
people and each of them will be training and teaching others.
Within the three days, the team taught the nine lessons from
Scope’s Be Transformed material and then taught them how to apply
specific Biblical Personal Guidance Ministry training to that particular lesson. They also
received an additional four hours of specific Biblical Personal
Guidance
training. So not only did they receive information that would
transform their lives personally but also received information
that taught them to apply it immediately to others.

One women wrote: Your program was very helpful to me. Especially I
learnt a lot about how to relate daily problems to Biblical
truths. Being a pastor’s wife, I have had the privilege of seeing
my husband (and occasionally me!!) apply God’s Word to life’s
problems, but now I have learnt to trace back a “problem”
manifesting itself at a physical level to the “solution” offered
from the Bible. I know a bit from the Word of God but using it to
reveal a problem in a man’s life was very new to me. I want to
thank all of you.
Another person wrote: Your approach of counseling is so different
where one not only gets a solution to his problem but also gets
hooked on to God for a life time. |
The team was honored to meet so many wonderful people. The people
are very sweet, gracious and always smiling. While in Nagercoil
they were able to visit The Charity Home for Girls, which is run by
Dr. Spurgeon. As we drove up, we were greeted by 48 little girls
from the ages of five to fifteen. They were absolutely precious
and this was a highlight from our trip.
At each conference we were asked to return and teach in other
cities, to help start Biblical Personal Guidance centers and to allow people to
come to Scope for our two-year training program. The response was
overwhelming. There is a real thirst from the Believers for the
need to be taught how to help others from a Biblical perspective.
Scope, as well as the team, would like to give a very special
thanks for Dr. Spurgeon and Viji for all their hard work and Godly
devotion to making these conferences so successful. We are forever
in their gratitude!
