Christ’s Robe of Righteousness

I have been practicing something lately that has really had an impact on my spiritual walk. In Colossians 1:27 it talks about Christ in you, the hope of glory, and in Colossians 1:28 about every man complete in Christ. I thought about Christ being in me, then I was reminded of Isaiah 61:10. I will rejoice greatly in the LORD, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. So I have been visualizing myself "in Christ" or wrapped up in His righteous robe. It reminds me that I am called to be His ambassador in all that I do and say. When someone speaks to me he is actually speaking to Christ through this "robe of righteousness."

Examples:
If someone says something to me that makes me feel inadequate or not valued; if I believe my emotions, I have stepped outside of His robe of righteousness. His robe is there to remind me what God says about my value as His precious child and that my adequacy is in Christ. (Is. 43:4; 2 Cor. 3:5-6)

When someone comes to me asking me to fix their problem, I can try to do it by myself or I can stop to ask Christ what He wants me to do, His robe reminds me He is always available to help me. I am also assured that what He shows me to do He will strengthen me to do. (Phil. 4:13)

When I see myself clothed in His righteous robe, I also realize that my value is not due to anything I have done but is because of Christ. (John 15:5)

When I speak, I have the choice to stay wrapped up in His robe or instead step out on my own. If I stop and pray before I speak, I am waiting on God’s revelation to me. (1 Pet. 3:10-12)

It has also been a great way to reaffirm that I am never alone because His robe is there to assure me. He will never leave me or desert me! (Heb. 13:5)

My prayer for you is that you too will see yourself wrapped in His Robe of Righteousness
